TIPS FOR CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE OF BATTERIES
The daily use of batteries both in homes and in shops or businesses causes them to lose the quality of their original condition over time, therefore, as at OCEAN BLUE-IMEX we develop our products with the highest quality standards, we give you some tips for cleaning and maintaining them.
Cleaning Frequency
The ideal way to extend their lifespan and avoid their appearance deteriorating is to clean them daily or at least once or twice a week. It is very important to clean any traces of soap and water after use, as residues can deteriorate the finish.
Cleaning tools
For regular cleaning, use a soft cloth to wipe away water droplets. Do not use abrasive products or sponges that could scratch the surface. We strongly recommend that you dry water droplets thoroughly after using the battery. If left to dry on the battery, salts may form which can penetrate and damage the finish.
Products to avoid
The products that we should NEVER use, as they will destroy our battery and we will not be able to restore it to its original state, are abrasive cleaners or any tool that scratches or scratches its surface, chemical-based cleaners, bleach, polishes or waxes and any acidic product or homemade inventions such as homemade lemon spray or traditional vinegar. It is very important NOT to use cleaning sponges or brushes as they scratch the surface.
Products to use
For proper maintenance of batteries, we can use specific cleaners that are not abrasive and always follow the manufacturer's instructions, vinegar only if it is white, hot water and soap with a neutral pH, a simple, effective and economical solution.
General advice
It is recommended to ventilate the bathroom regularly as it will help to avoid humidity and the accumulation of methane gases that circulate in the drain. To avoid the latter we must always keep the siphons full of water.
Additionally, dismantle the aerators or filters in which dirt accumulates in the pipes, blocking the passage of water and significantly reducing the flow. The easiest thing to do is to remove them and soak them in hot water with a little anti-corrosion cleaner. In this way, in a few minutes the limescale accumulations dissolve and we can put the filter back in place.
In case we live in a place where the water is also hard, to prevent salts from forming, you must remove the remaining water by always drying the surface with a soft cloth after each use.
Finally, you should not leave cleaning products on for longer than necessary, always following the manufacturer's instructions.
